Scripps College was awarded a $240,000 grant from the J. Paul Getty Trust to create a Landscape and Architectural Blueprint. The College has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984. The Blueprint focused on plantings, courtyards, fountains, allées, structures, and artworks that comprise the Scripps College campus. The centerpiece of the blueprint was a Cultural Landscape Report, which adhered to the Secretary of Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and Guidelines for the Treatment of Cultural Landscapes.
