URBAN FOREST MANAGEMENT AND MASTER PLANNING

Management and Master Plans describe, analyze, and provide recommendations for the long term care of an urban forest. Urban Forestry is a complex association between trees, infrastructure, the surrounding environment, and the people that enjoy and manage them. A master plan typically begins with an inventory of the tree population and analyzes its overall health, age, and value of the tree population’s environmental and infrastructure benefits. A dynamic document, the master plan is a long-range guide, establishing a vision for the community forest with guiding principles and goals for the future care and management of that resource.
